Little Step No. 12

What to do:

Why this step works:

It’s easy to get stuck in habit patterns that can be a real challenge to change. And this is especially true when it comes to caffeine.

Yet when I spot that excessive caffeine intake may be getting in the way of someone achieving their health goals, it’s not always as easy as simply suggesting they drink a bit less. Most people already know if they’re drinking too much coffee or tea; my role then is more about helping to facilitate that change. I ask the question, ‘what do we need to do to actually make this happen?’  A good first step is to find a great alternative.

Often when we reach for a cuppa, we're looking for more than just a drink to quench our thirst; perhaps comfort, a work break, relaxation, warmth, enjoyment, some extra energy, something to lift our spirits or even social connection.  But does this always have to be a standard cup of caffeinated tea or coffee? Or could there be other more healthful hot drinks that would sometimes be a better fit?

I've tried countless different herbal or fruit teas over the years and many of them taste bland and aren't very enjoyable to drink!  Thankfully though, over time, I've found some that taste delicious and I do really enjoy.

Here's my favourites.
Little Step no 12 is simply to give one of them a try:

Morning

Tick Tock Tea (The original Rooibos tea) - Feels more like a normal cuppa because you make it with milk.
Heath and Heather (Organic Lemon & Ginger) - A lovely awakening morning tea.

Afternoon

Yogi Tea (Classic Blend) - This is great mid-afternoon; it's a more unusual spicy tea, packed with flavour. I find it invigorating & balancing.
Heath and Heather (Organic Camomile & Spearmint) - The addition of spearmint makes for a camomile tea with more depth. This one is calming & uplifting.

Evening

Clipper (Organic Sleep Easy Infuson) - This is a gorgeous relaxing & soothing tea before bed.  I have one of these every night without fail.

Time to put the kettle on?

Enjoy!
