Little Step No. 52
What to do:
Start today.
Why this step works:
So we’ve reached Little Step no 52 and I can’t quite believe it! A whole year’s worth of little steps which feels like a significant milestone to me.
To mark this I wanted to share something a bit different this week; a little bit of inspiration and a little thank you x
Thinking back to Little Step no 1, I can still remember how nervous I felt when I actually pressed send. I can also remember what gave me the final push to do it. I was chatting with my friend Jo this one particular day and she asked why I hadn’t sent out my first little step yet? She knew it was all written and ready to go (and had been for some time) and wondered why it hadn’t arrived in her inbox? I came up with all the usual excuses of it ‘not being quite the right time’ or ‘not being quite perfect enough’ but the reality was that I really needed to just press send.
Minutes after I finished my call with Jo a text message arrived from her which simply read;
“a year from now you may wish you had started today.”

It was just what I needed to hear. I took a deep breath and pressed send. And a year’s worth of little steps later, I’m so glad I did.
To mark Little Step no 52, I asked the very talented Briony Machin if she could design a postcard with the quote that inspired me to get started (see the image above). I’ll be pinning one on my fridge as a daily reminder of the importance of taking the very first step towards your goals. As a thank you for being here (and hopefully to inspire you too!) I’d like to send you a (free) printed copy of this gorgeous postcard. If you would like to receive one, simply get in touch and let me know, and I’ll sort the rest.*
The essence of this week’s little step is simply this: if there’s a small diet or lifestyle change you’ve been putting off or waiting till the time is right or everything is perfect to get going with, ‘start today’ because a year from now, you’ll be so glad you did x
